What’s been happening:

Worked two years with Osmose Wood Preserving Co., earned MS in Forest Products, worked at US Steel and US Plywood research labs, became a H.S. science teacher teaching mostly chemistry, retired in 1992; lived near Pittsburgh, then 43 years in Danbury, CT, until 2007, now live in Slingerlands, NY, in the Beverwyck Retirement Community; have a wife, Mary, three children and six grandchildren; major hobbiy has been 35 years in Boy Scouting, Silver Beaver, also church trustee for many years, have always had a garden, also square dancer and international folk dancer (organized a Bavarian Schuhplattler group at Syracuse University while in graduate school), photographer and amateur genealogist (compiled family genealogy into a book of 350 pages), worked for 32 summers (so far) on the summer staff of the Silver Bay Association (Lake George) leading hikes, history and tree identification walks, trail maintenance, tour boat pilot, etc. It is our second home and family. During spare time am a loon observer ("Loon Ranger") for the New York Audubon and the Adirondack Cooperative Loon Project.
